My creative journey, which began in high school, now includes an MA in English (Creative Writing) from the University of the Western Cape and two major publications: a debut collection of poems entitled All the Places, that was published by Uhlanga Press in 2019 as well as a chapbook entitled The Internal Saboteur, also published in 2019 by Akashic Books in collaboration with the African Poetry Book Fund (APBF). All the Places won the 2020 South African Literary Award (SALA) for Poetry in English, the 2021 Humanities and Social Sciences Award for Best Poetry, and was also shortlisted for the 2020 Ingrid Jonker Prize. It was reviewed, amongst others, by the Cape Times, the Sowetan, and made the “The grand book tour” of the Sunday Times in December 2019.
